Stonyfield Farm Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt | March 11, 2009

oikos

Seriously Oikos, where have you been all my life. I had you for the first time and you blew my mind.

The BF is a big yogurt fan – me not so much – but we usually buy in bulk to have on hand, although I never thought to buy organic Greek yogurt. My frugality leads me to the Kirkland brand at Costco, but after my life-altering experience with Stonyfield Farm Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt, I will never buy any other yogurt again. ever. I’ll shell out a few extra bucks for this liquid gold.

I tried the honey on the bottom flavor – a yummy combination of sweet and tangy. The yogurt was light and fluffy which made it incredibly refreshing, which I normally don’t think of when I’m eating yogurt. The honey was great too. I know what you’re thinking…that’s a dumb flavor because you can just add your own honey to plain yogurt, but trust me on this one. The consistency of the honey was perfect for blending into the yogurt. When I’ve added honey to yogurt in the past it’s usually too thick straight from the bottle.

Sounds insane, but I was  happy and sad at the same time as I was eating it. Halfway through I was so happy I had found something that tasted this great. This stuff is definitely something I know I wont get sick of. Then I started to get sad as I was reaching the bottom of the cup. I only gotten 2 at the store to try – 1 for me and 1 for the BF. Stupid!

I’m not usually this crazy about brands, but this is different. I even went to the Stonyfield Farm website to check it out and guess what?! There are coupons!

  1. Thanks for posting a link to coups!

Greek yogurt is the BEST and I couldn’t live without it either. Try it with some toasted walnuts and a handful of blueberries. You’ll be in heaven.

  2. Yogurt + honey is already one of my favorite breakfast foods, but this organic greek yogurt + honey sounds like some sort of upgraded version of that!! I definitely want to try some with nuts like Krissy suggested.

  3. I’m a fan of Greek Yogurt- for a couple of weeks I tried adding my own honey to plain yogurt but it wasn’t the same.

  4. Wow, you REALLY like that yogurt. By the end of this post I was starting to wonder if something addictive (i.e. crack) was sprinkled on the top. : )

  5. Just went to an ‘Entrepeneurial boot camp’ by Stonyfield Farm – led by Gary Hirshberg the CE-Yo. Amazing guy and company – all the more reason to support their stellar products! Plus the Greek Yogurt was flowin’….
